Is it too hard to validate?
Is it too restricting to validate?
Why don't any of the largest money making sites in the world validate at the Consortium's validator service?
I'll tell you why. It is because it is too restrictive for the types of applications those large websites want to run. I know about it through first hand experience in desiring to validate, and have awesome advanced apps running at the same time on my site. It is about impossible to "have your cake and eat it to" in this instance. Most sites that do pass validation are bland, have little to do with flash, and are just all around kind of boring to me.
It is a shame that you are forced to rebel in order to run the coolest apps and latest technologies. It is a shame that half the web is stuck up and rigid, and the other half could care less about standards.
Especialy if you webmaster a site that allows members to add content and interact. The chances of you validating are slim to none. Good luck!
I sit more in the middle leaning towards the rebel side. Chaotic Neutral.
