Earthshine Mountain Lodge Website Redesign...
by Adam - Sun Jan 24, 2010 04:53:44 PM

I would hate to make it worse for them by supplying a design worse that their current design.

Be honest with me... which is more effective for the entity in question, and why do you think so?

Their current: earthshinemtnlodge.com

The new: flashbuilding.com/Earthshine/

Want to see if I am going in the right direction to help the business do better online than it is now.

Hey Adam i like the new design you done it is more user friendly and easier to navigate to the relevant sections everything is simple to see and use and it is more spaced out rather than the old design which to me was to compacted together also i like how you have displayed the images and the header is alot better as you are using the full size of the screen

So in all i think the new site is 100% better than the old 1

I really like how you dropped the flash below the nav, so many people throw it the headers. It really helps draw the eyes down to the content.

lol... yea the original is not hard at all to top for asthetics.... just want to make sure we are going into a better direction for the site.

Keep any feedback coming about either design. What would you do?

Design wise.

When I clicked on their first website, I found it very uninviting, the chioce of earth colours for that kind of website is a very good idea, but the sickly earth colours they chose was awful. And the dark header just added to the hideousness of the over all look. Perhaps it would be more suitable for a haunted mansion getaway.

Your earth colours are much more inviting and pleasing to the eye. And the big bright header makes me want to stay and take a look around.

Your template is far superior but there are a couple of things I don't like!
The navigation bar is not my cuppa.... I dont like the spacing and the buttons are a little bland.
The color scheme could be a little nicer, the primary color is nice but the white text is a little standout-ish, maybe dim it down and try #eeeeee.  I would also add a highlighter color into the mix for the headers etc, maybe a rust color or orange/gold type...

Dude, your site kicks serious ass when compared to their old poo site.  You can tell that you know what the hell you're doing...I mean that's obvious to all of us.  Yet another bad ass site to add to your portfolio.  Great work adam, I am jealous.

The site is a HUGE upgrade from their current one. There is one big thing that stands out though, the links/navbar or whatever you want to call it is to plain. It does not match up to the rest of the sites superior visuals. Just some constructive criticism man, no disrespect. :)

Wow Adam, i really like the new design. It jumps out at me.

the only thing i would change is the menu. maybe make the menu bar all together with no spacing. the color of the menu bar works.

other than that, it's a great design!

I definitely agree to what the guys said, the new site is MUCH better than the old crappy one... but the menu on the new site needs serious re-work, I just don't feel it... Overall, great job Adam!

Very very nice. GREAT improvement from their old site.

One thing I gotta point out it on the contact page, the text in the captcha is plain and selectable, which makes it easy for bots to spam, but other than that...good job!!
